Doing Our Part in Water Conservation

Water conservation plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of our community’s resources and protecting the environment for future generations. As stewards of this vital shared resource, it is important that all users act responsibly and remain mindful of how daily water use affects overall supply and infrastructure.

Practicing conservation not only demonstrates consideration for neighbors and the broader community, but also reflects a commitment to sustainable living and responsible decision-making.

While Mid Valley Metropolitan District does not currently impose water use restrictions, it strongly encourages all customers to adopt water-efficient practices and remain aware of their consumption. The district has chosen not to implement restrictions because many of the communities it serves utilize raw water irrigation systems with privately held water rights and/or ditch rights.

Looking ahead, the district is evaluating potential adjustments to its rate structure, including the possible addition of a fourth billing tier to further encourage responsible water use. In addition, the district believes that communication and education are the most effective tools for reducing demand. The Executive Director is available to speak at community and HOA meetings to discuss water resources, conservation, and related issues. If your organization is interested, please contact the district office at 970-927-4077.

By staying informed, proactive, and conscientious, we can work together to help preserve this essential resource for future generations.
